A few weeks ago I set out on a journey to take one of the best fonts I’ve ever made and see if I could make it better. Well that process ultimately turned into a full rebuild of every single character from the ground up and in the end it turned into a total of 7 font weights.

The new Quartez Font Family is the end result of a super fun, informative and rewarding process that made me a much better type designer in the process.

Taking an existing font you created with 1 weight and expanding to a total of 7 weights was something I never knew I was capable of doing. Having to rebuild each character from the ground up was an incredible task but I’m so glad I did it.

After months of hard work, the time has finally come to release this monster of a project that was entirely reimagined and rebuilt from the ground up. What originally started as a single font back in 2020 is now a family of 7 weights from Thin all the way through Heavy.
