Sleeping Is Dumb

My need for sleep (or lack thereof) is the single most important contributing factor to me being able to do all the things that I’ve done and accomplished so far in life. I’m still nowhere near where I want to be but I can attribute my mentality, work-ethic and outlook on life to my sleeping habits.

When Dark Skies Roar Time-lapse

A lot of you may know I'm super into retro looking typography stuff. That's pretty much how I've made a name for myself. A thing I learned early on in my career was how to make super custom, retro-looking, typography pieces. Which was totally awesome because obviously, being a fan of that style meant that I progressed enough and became skilled enough that I could design things in that style.

Windows H8

About 2 months ago, my beloved MacBook Pro suffered a GPU failure. It was about a sudden and unexpected as one can imagine. Being a person who does not like to work in the same coffee shop for more that 2 hours at a time, I became heavily dependent on my MacBook to be able to allow me to do all the work I needed to do, regardless of where I was. Luckily for me though, I had a base-level Mac Mini at home that I mainly used for recording music and what-not. Since I still needed a computer to do stuff in the mean time, my Mac Mini became my work computer of sorts while I figured out what to do with my MacBook.

Why I Gave Up Television

Television, along with my will to watch it, is dead. The reason being is that there just isn't as much quality programming available to pique my interest anymore. Also I just don't have the time or patience to sit for long periods of time doing nothing constructive. Lately I've been finding my urge to create things has greatly surpassed any will to do anything unproductive for an extended period of time. Which is also why I rarely, if ever spend time in theaters watching movies. Don't get me wrong though.

Object vs. Subject – Introduction

I've come across lots of forms of art over the past few years. I've also come into contact with the creators of those artworks and the observers that enjoy and appreciate them and their hard work. From graphic/web designers to illustrators. From musicians and performers to photographers and videographers. When one begins to analyze the world from a point of view in which everyone in it consists of creators who are viewed and admired by outside observers, the vastness and sophistication of the human experience from a creative sense begins to become clear.

What Do I Do Now?

I do a lot of things. Like seriously. Let's be honest here. I have my hand in tons of different creative outlets and I enjoy doing them all. Really, it's not so much about doing lots of stuff to show off but its more for the sake of just doing things and learning as much as I can because I can. I've said it before, I love learning and I love a good challenge.

Fake It ’til You Make It

One of the best quotes that pretty much sums up my life as a working designer/developer up to this point is "Fake it 'til you make it." For years I've heard this quote being said over and over and thought it sounded funny (and kinda dirty, actually) but I never really paid too much attention to it.

I Love Los Angeles

Los Angeles is the only place I’ve ever called home. Never lived in any other city or any other state. I’ve never really even traveled much outside of L.A. only until recently. That being said, I still feel as foreign and new to most of the city. You see, I have this problem. And that... Read more »

Searching For The Sunset

Despite what I was talking about yesterday about not having motivation to do anything, I am still running off of a great high from spending time at BlizzCon 2013 2 weeks ago (speaking of which, I still need to go through and edit photos from that day).

I Like To Waste Time In My Spare Time

It's mid-November. Leaves have started falling and the weather is changing. Daylight Saving Time is (finally) over and I'm stuck with, for the first time in a long time, no ideas and no motivation to get any work done.
